Printed Stitches
This collection takes inspiration from the detailed embroidery that was used to create the Jacobean Crewelwork - Tree of Life textile from the Kravet archive. I was drawn to the overall sense of movement throughout the piece, and the dense detail that is created through the different threads and stitches. I wanted to create a pattern that used traditional embroidery stitches as surface design, creating the same detailed look, without the added time and cost of producing actual embroidered fabric. The details may not be very visible from a distance, but invite you to take a closer look at the engaging details. I used bright colors to add warmth to any space. These designs could be used for an upscale children’s room with a Scandinavian feel, or to accent any space in need of a pop of color & fun.
